Who I am
I provide my services through Adams Technology Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10497954). Adams Technology Limited is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. In this notice, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Adams Technology Limited.

The information I collect
Enquiries. When you use the contact form, the form asks for your name, work email address, organisation, the type of engagement you are interested in, a summary of your project, and, optionally, your timescale and budget range. If you contact me by email, LinkedIn or telephone, I receive the details you choose to share.
Technical information. Like most websites, the hosting platform records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to keep the website secure and working.
Please do not include passwords, special category data (for example, health information) or confidential third-party information in an enquiry.
How I use your information and my lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and discussing a possible engagement | Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), or my legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries where you contact me on behalf of an organisation (Article 6(1)(f)) |
| Delivering and administering an engagement you agree to | Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) |
| Keeping business, accounting and tax records | Compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) |
| Protecting the website and enquiry service from misuse and spam | My legitimate interests in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)) |
I do not use your information for marketing mailing lists, I do not sell it, and I do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
Who I share it with
I share personal information only where necessary, with:
- service providers who host this website and store enquiries and email on my behalf, including Microsoft (Azure and Microsoft 365), under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only on my instructions;
- my professional advisers, such as my accountant, where an enquiry becomes an engagement;
- law enforcement, regulators or other authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months from our last contact, so that I can refer back to earlier discussions.
- Engagement records: for the duration of the engagement and six years afterwards, to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
- Technical and security logs: only as long as needed to keep the website secure and to investigate problems, after which they are deleted by the hosting platform.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you;
- ask me to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask me to delete your information;
- ask me to restrict how I use your information;
- object to my use of your information where I rely on legitimate interests;
- ask me to transfer information you have given me to another organisation.
Some rights apply only in certain circumstances. To make a request, email info@adamstech.io. There is normally no charge, and I will respond within one month.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The hosting platform may set a strictly necessary cookie that routes your requests to the same server. It holds no personal profile and is exempt from consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how I handle your information, please contact me first so that I can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
